Q1: What is Africa Solutions, Inc.? What does Africa Solutions, Inc. do?
A: Africa Solutions, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in Minneapolis, MN in September 2000. Since May 2001, Africa Solutions, Inc. has provided HIV prevention services in African community in Minneapolis, Saint-Paul, MN. Recently, the founder decided to shift to overseas missions in Africa.

Q2: Do you have solutions for all problems in Africa?
A: We do not assume everyone's or intend to solve all problems facing Africans. African Solutions is more than simply a name, it drives our vision of how the health, education, and economic problems in Africa should be presented and conducted in international context.

Q3. Are you another humanitarian emergency organization like many others?
A: Africa Solutions, Inc. is not a humanitarian emergency relief organization. We are an organization that provides some humanitarian assistance but is not focusing on emergency relief issues. We do have a list of humanitarian emergency relief partners.

Q4. What African countries do you serve and why?
A: Currently we serve in Ivory Cost (Cote d'Ivoire) and are ready to extend services in Ghana and Mali. We hope to provide services to all African countries, however, due to financial constraints; we will extend our implementation gradually to additional African countries.

Q5: Is Africa Solutions, Inc. a healthcare organization?
A: Africa Solutions, Inc. is not a healthcare organization. We are a non-profit organization that serves the cause of healthcare in general including public health with focus on health promotion, education, and economic issues in African communities.

Q6: Why the name Africa Solutions?
A: The choice of this name comes from a vision Dr. Charles Koudou has regarding African communities here in the United States and in Africa. The vision is to bring sustainable community improvements through innovative solutions and approaches that address societal problems in African communities.

We raise awareness and we bring innovative solutions to young populations. We aim to develop a comprehensive home-based care model underpinned by community and leadership mobilization with strong self-sufficiency activities. The organization focuses on strategic planning, social change, social development, replicable tools for community foundation advancement and willingness to share them with others. Our slogan is to provide the right solutions, for the right needs, to the right people and populations, at the right time, in the right manner.

Q7: How is Africa Solutions, Inc. funded?
A: Africa Solutions, Inc. does not rely on direct funding from government grants at this time. Our support comes entirely from private foundations, individuals, corporations, and business partners who entrust us with cash and resources so that we can fulfill our mission to assist and improve lives in African communities.

Q8: How much do you spend in programs and how much do you spend in administrative costs?
A: We have a general operations budget and a program budget. 98% of our program budget donations go to programs in the field and 99% of our operations budget covers our administrative and fundraising costs.

Q9: How can I be assured my donation is going directly to people in needs?
A: It is our commitment to use your money for the purpose you choose. As a donor you will receive a copy of our financial report and upon request you will receive a receipt for the use of your money.

Q11: How to partner with Africa Solutions, Inc?
A: Only corporate partnerships are accepted. To partner with us simply send an e-mail indicating your interest in a partnership relationship. Our ethics and legal committee will assess the opportunity of the request and will make recommendations to the executive team for any decisions.

Q12: Is your scholarship program only for African students living in Africa?
A: No, our scholarship program is available for any African students living in the United States, Canada, and in any African country. Q13: Does Africa Solutions, Inc. provide financial assistance?
A: No, we do not provide financial assistance. We do have a scholarship program for African students. Click here for a copy of our Scholarship Application Form. In addition, we provide micro financing for small business opportunities in Africa that may be helpful. Please contact us for more information. A: We have a list of drug manufacturers and healthcare organizations and other humanitarian partner agencies. We make a list of the most needed supplies in collaboration with our African medical center partners.

Q15: How does the Product Donations Program work?
A: Africa Solutions, Inc. abides by the World Health Organization's guidelines and regulations in accepting product donations. Upon approval of a donation, please provide the following information before donations are shipped:

  • Product Name
  • NDC/Product Number
  • Lot Number (if available)
  • Unit
  • Quantity
  • Expiration Dates (if any)
  • Product Description

A: We need unused medical supplies and drugs, clothing, computers, and sewing machines. We follow strict guidelines and regulations for our drugs and medical supplies as we work in collaboration with our partners. Click here for a list of essential drugs and medical supplies. The donations we accept come only from our organization partners. No medical supplies or drugs are accepted from individuals.
